Conference Scholarship Program

Share Your Story & Get Funded for Conferences

Across more than 1,700 institutions worldwide, our users are leveraging Watermark to streamline data collection across campus and engage administrators, faculty, and students in a process of continual reflection and growth.  We believe that the best way to learn is through collaboration and by sharing these best practices. As a result, we're excited to pilot our new "Conference Scholarship Program" to help our partner institutions attend key events throughout the year and share their Watermark story.

Here's how to apply:

  • Submit a Session to a Conference

Identify an event that you want to attend and submit your presentation proposal following their guidelines. In our pilot year, we are only offering scholarships at: AACTE, ACEAACRAO, AIR, HLC, WASC, AALHE, InstructureCon, Blackboard World, ACBSP, CAEP, AACSB, EDUCAUSE, IUPUI, MSCHE, SACS, or NECHE.

  • Complete our scholarship application

A committee will review all submissions for the scholarship. A complete application will include the conference you are speaking at, the acceptance status (have they already selected you to speak), the presentation proposal, and some other details. The application can be found here.

  • Attend and Present at the Conference

We will notify scholarship winners within 15 days of submitting their proposal and will issue the award within another 30 days. For your presentation, our goal is to help make sure you feel comfortable and ready for the conference spotlight. We will work with you to refine your  presentation or submission so you can shine!

Terms & Conditions

Presentation Content:
This is your presentation and doesn't need to be a sales pitch for Watermark. Focus on your story and what's working for your institution, ideally highlighting where Watermark's tools have assisted in the process.

Acceptance:
Getting accepted to speak at a conference doesn't guarantee that you will be granted a scholarship. Scholarships will be evaluated on an individual basis and awards will be based on merit. By accepting the scholarship, you agree that Watermark can market and promote your session.

Reimbursement:
The scholarship recipient will be responsible for registering for the select conference and booking their own travel. Depending on timing, the award may arrive during or after a conference takes place.  Please coordinate any state restrictions with the program coordinator.

Costs:
Watermark will either cover registration costs or a travel stipend up to $1,500, as determined by the selection committee and the needs of the applicant. The scholarship is only valid for the selected conference.
